About Us

    How It Started

Be Kind Connection began almost eight years ago as a simple clubhouse — a group of friends gathering to do good and build real connection.

    It wasn't a nonprofit.

    It wasn't a strategy.

    It was people showing up.

The first Be Kind Connection dinner happened at Alexandria House — a transitional home for women and children in Los Angeles. A friend extended the invite, and that evening changed everything.

It was a room full of musicians, artists, and young professionals who were genuinely kind and looking for the same thing: real friendship and a meaningful way to contribute.

Then the pandemic hit. Most of the group scattered. But the dinners didn't stop. To this day, we have not missed a single monthly dinner in seven years.

Over time, the network grew. New friendships formed. Partnerships deepened. The Buddy System launched. And the community that started as a small gathering became something that genuinely matters to the people in it.

    Our Mission

Be Kind Connection mobilizes our community to turn kindness into action. Through volunteer service, shared resources, and creative community programs in Los Angeles, we help people recognize their gifts and use them to build meaningful and supportive connections.

    Our Vision

We envision a world where kindness moves freely between people, every individual recognizes the value of their gifts, and communities grow stronger when people share those gifts with one another.

    What We Stand For

    Our Core Values

    Kindness in Action

We believe kindness is most meaningful when expressed through action. We mobilize individuals to contribute their time, talents, and compassion in ways that create real support for others.

    Human Dignity

Every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and respected. We approach every interaction with empathy, humility, and care, recognizing the inherent dignity of all people.

    Community Connection

We believe lasting impact begins with strong relationships. By creating spaces for people to connect, collaborate, and support one another, we strengthen the fabric of our communities.

    Shared Responsibility

We believe everyone has something meaningful to contribute. By helping individuals identify their gifts and areas of abundance, we empower them to participate in addressing the needs they encounter.

    Empowerment Through Participation

Rather than positioning people solely as helpers or recipients, we foster a culture of participation where individuals work together to support one another and build resilient communities.

    Safety and Integrity

We prioritize thoughtful communication, responsible service practices, and ethical collaboration to ensure the wellbeing and dignity of everyone involved.

    Mutual Growth

Acts of kindness transform both sides of the transaction. Through service, connection, and collaboration, we strengthen individuals and communities alike.

    Looking Ahead

    Where We're Headed

Be Kind Connection is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 33-4564829), effective May 21, 2025. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

At its heart, nothing has changed.

    We gather.

    We build friendships.

    We show up.
